LA purveyor of pop noir Saro releases “Daddy I Love Him” and gives us the 2021 Pride anthem we have all been waiting for!
Each song from Saro is a direct channeling of raw feeling, both dreamlike and disquieting, His brand of noir-pop ultimately bears a hypnotic power that’s got much to do with the fluidity that defines him as an artist. “I think that fluidity is one of the keys to great art—blurring lines and blending influences and though humans will continue putting each other in boxes, the real visionaries will continue to break out to move the world forward”, says Saro. He gave us the In Loving Memory EP which Rolling Stone called “beautiful, dark, twisted fantasia” followed by the Boy Afraid release featuring the dark, disco thump of “Eyelids” and cinematic beauty of “Sardonic and Die Alone featuring “Please” which had Paper Magazine cheering “Saro’s triumph rests in the fact that his music full of edgy textures, gorgeous turns of phrase and sweet melancholy melodies exists at all” and The Advocate calling him “Morrissey for the modern era”. Saro was hard at work during the quarantine creating what will be his full-length debut album coming this fall. The just released, celebratory kick off single “Daddy I Love Him” on Tragic Fashion Records is an electronic-dipped pop track mixed with intimate, confessional vocals.
As concerts begin to come back to life, Saro will return to the stage on June 4th for the Outloud Raising Voices festival for Pride month performing with Sofi Tukker, Daya and more at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum: Get Tickets. The release of “Daddy I Love Him” will be followed by more new music from Saro coming soon.
